
Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA said Thursday that aftertax profit for the first quarter fell on negative special items and currency effects.
Aftertax profit for the first quarter was 172 million euros ($203.2 million) compared with EUR198 million a year earlier.
The German media company said revenue in the January to March period was EUR3.99 billion compared with EUR3.94 billion in the period last year.
Bertelsmann confirmed its outlook for the year and said it expects to maintain net profit of more than EUR1 billion.
